This section of our website is to help truckers who have found themselves victims of theft or an advance scam.

These alerts will only work if all of you participate.  These advance scammers are not going to go away anytime soon, especially if no one does anything and just continues to let them run rampant.

If you have ever been the victim of one of these loads then you know how costly it can be to your business.

The police will tell you that it is a civil matter, and no matter how many calls you make, you will wind up feeling like the only person who cares that you got ripped off is you and your family.

A while back I heard that one logistics company lost eight loads of copper wire, fuel advances given out and, to add insult to injury, the copper wire never showed up.  Pretty sure some broker got fired over that one.

The only way to stop these scammers is to make everyone aware of who they are, where they are, and what numbers they are using, plus where the electronic check was cashed.

You should also know that the broker, who gave the load out, really is the most responsible party, because they did not know who they were doing business with.

Now most will argue that, but, it all started with them issuing the load to a scammer.  You have some responsibility, but the broker better be ready to accept theirs as well.

These scammers know what they are doing; they can alter paper work, they use servers here and abroad, some of them are even based overseas trying to scam you here.  Most drivers I know are not forged document experts, so they might not question a smudge or a line out of place showing the document has been altered.

As you broker out loads, you are responsible for that load, although most would tell you that you got scammed, not them and sorry about your luck, even when it was they who issued the fuel advance that you are now going to be shorted when you get your check.

So if you find yourself the victim of an advance scam you need to call us immediately so we can get a fresh alert posted; then we will also help you get the money that you have coming to you.

Here are just a few tips to save you the headache of dealing with this.  These things should raise a red flag.  They do for me.

Always make sure to look at the name and fax numbers on the top of their paper work as it comes over the fax.  Make sure the name and number they gave you is the same name, area code, and phone number on the top of that fax.  If there is no name and number that should raise a red flag, too.

Always look at your paperwork and question anything that looks out of the ordinary.

If you are dealing with an agent that you don't know, even if you are familiar with the company, call their corporate office and confirm they are an agent.
